Tesla is Hiring in Argentina: The First 7 Positions and What They Are Looking For

In late 2024, I tried to nationalize my Tesla in Argentina. I visited customs, talked to brokers, ran the numbers. The conclusion was straightforward: between tariffs and taxes, the process would cost me an additional USD 20,000 to 50,000 on top of the car's price. I dropped it. The Tesla still felt like something from another world.

Now, in August 2026, Tesla is looking for Argentines to work for the company.

This isn't a rumor or a leak. These are seven job listings published on Tesla's official careers page, filtered by Argentina. Seven full-time positions, with locations in Buenos Aires and Munro. The first official Tesla jobs in the country.

For someone who went through customs trying to bring an electric car in when it still seemed like science fiction, there's something poetic about this.

What These Positions Signal

These aren't random job postings. They're the initial skeleton of an operation. Tesla doesn't hire six delivery and service people if it's not planning to scale quickly.

The geography says something: most positions are in Buenos Aires city (six of seven), with one in Munro, Buenos Aires Province. Munro is an industrial area 25 kilometers north of the city, where the first showroom opened. Buenos Aires city concentrates the commercial, technical service, and delivery functions.

Infrastructure comes first. The network is built before the cars arrive in volume. We covered this when Tesla announced its formal arrival in Argentina.

The 7 Available Positions

1. Tesla Advisor, Sales — Munro

The only position in Munro. This is the face of the showroom: welcoming customers, conducting test drives, managing the sales pipeline, guiding buyers from first contact to delivery.

Requirements: 1+ years of customer service or sales experience, Microsoft Office, CRM. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Valid driver's license.

Key insight: Tesla is looking for passion for the mission, not a traditional car salesperson. The profile is closer to modern retail than a traditional dealership.

2. Service Technician — Buenos Aires

Of all the positions, this one surprised me the most. Tesla's technician in Argentina doesn't need prior experience with the brand or electric vehicles. The requirements are: ability to adapt to new technology, basic English, and basic computer skills. Tesla trains its technicians from scratch.

The logic makes sense: electric vehicles are so different from combustion engines that they prefer someone without bad habits already learned.

Requirements: Basic English, basic computer skills (Excel, Word), "safety first" attitude, valid driver's license. Willingness to learn.

Key insight: This is the most accessible entry-level position in the group. If you're a curious mechanic or work in repairs and are interested in the EV world, this job was made for you.

3. Service Advisor — Buenos Aires

The Service Advisor receives the car when it comes in for service. They listen to the customer's concern, translate it for the technician, manage timelines, and explain the work performed. The bridge between customer and technical team.

Requirements: Knowledge of vehicle maintenance methods, precise communication skills, Dealer Management System proficiency, patience with complex customer situations. Valid driver's license.

Key insight: This profile benefits from prior automotive experience. Someone with a dealership or repair shop background will have an advantage.

4. Tesla Advisor, Delivery — Buenos Aires

The delivery role accompanies the customer from when they confirm their order until they sit in the car for the first time. Preparing documentation, scheduling delivery appointments, handling financing, and resolving whatever comes up along the way.

Requirements: At least 1 year of customer service experience, Microsoft Office, Salesforce (preferred). Weekend availability. Valid driver's license.

Key insight: The first Tesla that someone picks up in Argentina will pass through the hands of the person in this role. That historical moment will be lived by whoever gets this job.

5. Associate Sales Manager — Buenos Aires

The first level of sales management. Works with the Store Leader to manage the commercial team, with active floor presence 70% of the time. Recruits, trains, and evaluates team members.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent), 2+ years of management experience, ability to relocate if needed. Valid driver's license.

Key insight: Tesla is looking for leaders who think like owners. The exact wording from the posting: "Self-starting entrepreneur with exceptional management skills."

6. Associate Service Manager — Buenos Aires

The leader of the technical service operation. Manages the service center, the team, customer satisfaction KPIs, and business financials.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, experience leading technical or manufacturing teams. Experience with Lean methodology or similar. Valid driver's license.

Key insight: Tesla explicitly states "automotive expertise is not required." They want an operational leader, not a car expert. If you come from logistics, manufacturing, or field service operations, this position is within reach.

7. Associate Delivery Manager — Buenos Aires

The delivery manager oversees the entire delivery pipeline for the Argentine market. Reports to the Regional Operations Manager, builds the team, defines processes, and ensures every delivery is a positive experience.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of operations or management experience. Technological fluency, communication across all organizational levels. Travel up to 20% of the time. Valid driver's license.

Key insight: The most senior position of the seven. This is the role that will define how Tesla's delivery operation launches in Argentina.

What All These Positions Have in Common

Three things appear across all seven job listings without exception.

Valid driver's license. Required for all seven positions.

Passion for Tesla's mission. This isn't empty corporate language. Tesla's interview process evaluates whether you genuinely believe in the energy transition. If the topic doesn't interest you, it shows.

Team over individual. Tesla repeats across multiple listings that individual recognition doesn't replace collective work. It's a very different model from traditional commissioned sales environments.

One thing that stood out: English is only explicitly mentioned as a requirement for the Service Technician. For the rest, it's not listed as a formal requirement — though in practice, the application process and Tesla's internal systems are in English.

How to Apply for Tesla Jobs in Argentina

All positions are applied for through Tesla's official website. The link with the Argentina filter already applied:

Each listing has an "Apply" button. The process is online. Documentation and the overall process are mostly in English.

A practical observation: these are Tesla's first formal positions in Argentina, published in August 2026. We don't know how many applicants they'll receive. Getting in early in a new market is usually an advantage.

Frequently Asked Questions about Working at Tesla Argentina

Do I need to speak English to work at Tesla Argentina?
The only position that explicitly requires it is Service Technician, which asks for "basic command of the English language." For the rest, it's not a declared requirement. That said, Tesla's internal systems and the application process are in English, so some basic level will be useful in any role.

Do I need experience in the automotive industry?
Not necessarily. For Associate Service Manager, Tesla explicitly says "automotive expertise is not required." The Service Technician profile is also open, with internal training provided. Sales and delivery positions prioritize customer service experience.

Are they paying in pesos or dollars?
Tesla didn't publish salary information in the listings. This is addressed during the interview process.

Are there growth opportunities within Tesla Argentina?
Likely yes. Joining during a market's launch phase typically creates faster growth opportunities than joining a mature operation.

What is Tesla's hiring process like?
It generally includes an initial call with HR, one or more technical or behavioral interviews, and references. Tesla places emphasis on alignment with their mission and values.
