Carla y Gonzalo

About us

Carla & Gonzalo

EchoRoute isn't just a trip: it's the alternative life we chose. We cross the world in a Tesla, work remotely from wherever we are, grow our projects, build companies, and document the road. We met in Buenos Aires in 2025, when Gonzalo moved back after 23 years in Barcelona. Four months later we were already mapping the route. Explore, grow, build and tell how it looks from the inside — that's the way we chose to live.

Carla

I'm Carla Fresch Pons. I was born in Argentina, but part of my story has always been in Menorca. Before starting this journey I went to trace my family's roots, because understanding where you come from also changes the way you choose to move forward.

That search made me look at my own path. It was never particularly linear or traditional: I moved through cybercrime, human resources, technology, and communications. What for years seemed like detours ended up teaching me to observe closely, ask questions, listen to what isn't always said, and try to understand before telling.

I work alongside brands and people, helping them find the words to express what makes them different and build a presence of their own. In EchoRoute I bring that same lens to the road: I write about the places, the people we meet, and everything that begins to shift when we stop passing through a place and choose to live it a little more.

I always loved traveling, but visiting destinations stopped being enough. Together with Gonzalo, my partner in life and on the road, we wanted to build a way of living that's more our own — with room to change direction and let the road transform our plans too.

Gonzalo

I'm Gonzalo Castro, entrepreneur, business consultant, and passionate about technology, film, and travel.

I was born in Argentina and, at just 18, moved to Barcelona in search of new opportunities. There I built my life, developed my career, and spent the following 23 years. In 2025 I returned to my home country, and reconnecting with my roots made me understand something I'd been feeling for a long time: travel doesn't only change the places you get to know, it changes how you understand the world and yourself.

That's how EchoRoute was born. Together with Carla we decided to hit the road in a Tesla, with no fixed end date and one very clear idea: to live the world instead of simply crossing it. I'm the one who shoots, edits, and publishes the documentaries of each stage of the trip on our channel.

We're not chasing countries or ticking off a list of destinations. We prefer back roads, stopping when a place invites us to stay, meeting people whose stories deserve to be told, and leaving room for the road itself to make some decisions for us. Because, in the end, the destination was never Australia — it was always everything we'd live through before getting there.
