Kia electric cars in Spain: EV6, EV9 and Niro EV — which to choose and why

Kia has been one of the European EV market's reference brands for three years. In Spain, it offers three distinct electric vehicles targeting three different buyer profiles.

Kia EV6: The Long-Range Highway EV

The EV6 Long Range (€49,490) is the standout: 528 km WLTP, 800V architecture, 233 kW DC charging. From 10% to 80% in approximately 18 minutes on a high-power Ionity charger. That charging speed changes the long-trip experience significantly.

Kia EV9: The 7-Seat Family EV

Starting at €71,690, the EV9 offers 563 km WLTP — the most range of any 7-seat electric SUV sold in Spain — with 240 kW DC charging. It also includes Vehicle-to-Load capability, turning the car into an external power generator.

Kia Niro EV: The Reliable First EV

At €39,500, the Niro EV (463 km WLTP, 100 kW DC) is the least spectacular but most practical Kia EV. A solid choice for first-time EV buyers prioritizing reliability and urban practicality.

Kia vs BYD

BYD consistently undercuts Kia on price across all segments. Kia consistently outperforms on charging speed (especially 800V EV6/EV9) and range in the high-end segments. If price is your primary filter, BYD wins in most segments. If fast charging and long-range travel are priorities, Kia has the stronger technical case.

Prices verified July 2026. Always confirm with your local Kia dealership.
