BYD Tang in Spain: the 7-seat SUV nobody talks about (and it's actually good)

The BYD Tang is the 7-seat large SUV that nobody talks about when discussing BYD's Spanish lineup. At €65,990 it's the most affordable 7-seat electric SUV in Spain — the nearest competitor, the Kia EV9, starts at €71,690.

The Key Numbers

517 hp AWD, 108.8 kWh LFP Blade battery, 400 km WLTP range, 110 kW DC charging. The Tang is significantly heavier (2,355 kg) than its 400 km WLTP suggests — real-world highway range is closer to 300-330 km.

Tang vs. EV9

The EV9's biggest advantages are range (563 vs 400 km WLTP) and charging speed (240 kW 800V vs 110 kW). For families doing frequent long highway trips with all 7 seats occupied, the EV9 is the more comfortable choice. For predominantly urban use with occasional long trips, the Tang's €5,700 price advantage carries more weight.

Prices verified July 2026. Always confirm with your local BYD dealership.
