BYD Seal in Spain: price, range and honest review

In a Barcelona parking lot a few months ago, I parked the Tesla next to a BYD Seal. Same approximate length. Same sporty sedan profile. The difference: €34,990 for the Seal versus €47,990 for the cheapest Model 3 RWD. Thirteen thousand euros. That's too much money to ignore without researching first.

BYD Seal Price in Spain (July 2026)

BYD offers the Seal in Spain in two versions: the Standard Range RWD at €34,990 (204 hp) and the AWD at €41,990 (530 hp). With Spain's Plan MOVES III incentive and vehicle scrappage, you can subtract up to €7,000, bringing the Standard down to approximately €27,990.

Real-World Range

The Seal Standard claims 570 km WLTP. In real-world use: roughly 400-430 km at 120 km/h on motorway, 480-520 km in city driving. The 80 kWh Blade LFP battery is more tolerant of frequent charging than NMC chemistry — a practical advantage.

Charging

Maximum DC charge rate is 150 kW. From 10% to 80% takes approximately 28 minutes on a fast charger. The CCS Combo 2 connector is the European standard, compatible with all major Spanish charging networks.

BYD Seal vs Tesla Model 3

On paper, the Seal has better range (570 vs 513 km WLTP) and a larger screen, while the Model 3 wins on charging speed (250 kW Supercharger vs 150 kW), software maturity, and access to Tesla's Supercharger network. The €13,000 price gap is real — whether Tesla's advantages justify it depends on how often you do long highway trips and how much you value the Supercharger network.

Prices verified July 2026. Always confirm current pricing with your local BYD dealership.
