Volvo offers three electric models in Argentina (June 2026), entering the market aggressively with the EX30 priced significantly below traditional German premium competitors.
- EX30 — Compact premium SUV from USD 49,900 (launch) / USD 62,900 (Twin Performance Ultra). 272-428 hp, 450-480 km WLTP, 0-100 in 3.6 s (Twin)
- EX40 (formerly XC40 Recharge) — Mid-size premium SUV ~USD 75,000-95,000, 252-408 hp, ~400 km WLTP
- EC40 — Premium coupé-crossover variant of EX40, ~USD 80,000-100,000
Strategic differentiator: 3-month subsidized YPF charging network membership for Volvo electric buyers — the only premium brand resolving Argentina's charging infrastructure concern from day one. With the recent YPF-Tesla supercharger agreement, this network will expand significantly.
Volvo Cars is owned by Geely Holding since 2010 but retains Swedish design, engineering, and brand identity. The EX30 and EC40 are manufactured in China, the EX40 in Belgium. Build quality remains premium-grade.
