Electric bicycles in Argentina have evolved into a real mobility category, with three distinct tiers in June 2026:
- Basic (urban): 250-350W motor, 36V battery, 30-50 km range. Price ARS 1,000,000-2,000,000. Models: Philco Yoga, Enerby Ave.
- Mid-range (serious commuting): 350-500W motor, 48V battery, 50-80 km range. Price ARS 2,000,000-5,000,000. Models: Prestige MTB R29 (USD 1,850, assembled in Argentina), Rodar Electric VR, EMOV Brina 2.
- High-end (performance/MTB): 500-1000W mid-drive motor, 48-52V high-capacity battery, 80-150 km range. Price ARS 5,000,000-17,110,000. Models: Specialized Turbo Vado/Levo, Trek Powerfly.
National production includes EMOV, Rodar Electric, E-zero, Prestige Auto, and Philco. Regulatory note: under 250W and 25 km/h are treated as bicycles (no license/insurance required); above those limits require motorcycle registration.
